The Classic Museum Frame is designed for that already-matted print or photograph you bought at the art fair and is sitting in your closet. It’s also perfect for any artist who wants to have the option to switch pieces in-and-out easily!
Simply remove the countersunk-screws and backing strainer: take out the cardboard and backing board and replace it with your matted art. These frames are also great for documents or as a display frame.
- For artists matting their own work - there is a two-ply Rising acid free board and acid free foamcore included in the frame package, so you only need the top mat.
Frame package includes
- Small screwdriver
- TruVue premium clear glass
- Rising 2-ply white backing board
- 3/16 acid free foam core and cardboard insert to be removed and replaced with matted artwork
- Backing Strainer attached with countersunk screws on two sides of frame
- Two Sawtooth hangers for horizontal or vertical hanging

Manufacturing & Materials
Manufacturing & Materials
All frame stock milled from rough lumber in house sourced at a locally owned lumberyard. No CNC design or fabrication. The Mad Framer uses a traditional wood-shop and everything is handmade.
Three stock woods available - Walnut, Alder and Maple.
Alder and Walnut are finished with danish oil + wax, hard maple is wax only.
The Mad Framer sometimes uses reclaimed or unusually sourced woods for limited edition pieces, and those finishes will vary.
