Matthew Stern is a Seattle-based glass artist whose work blends traditional technique with a distinctly modern sensibility. Raised in Virginia, he studied in the Craft and Material Studies department at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he explored glass alongside ceramics and wood. Today, his practice centers on blown and sculpted hot glass.

Over the years, Matthew has developed a deep appreciation for Venetian methods, weaving these time-honored techniques into pieces that feel both refined and expressive.
