Collection: Hoagland Handmade

Karen Hoagland is the founder and maker behind Hoagland Handmade. When she first picked up knitting needles, she had no idea that most big-box yarns were acrylic — essentially, plastic. Knitting was fun, but it wasn’t until she discovered natural fibers that it became a true passion.

Hand-dyed merino, hand-spun wool, and later locally farmed llama, cotton, alpaca, and heritage wool opened an entirely new world: richer texture, better comfort and fit, and a deep connection to the farmers and dyers who pour their hearts into their craft. These are the people who know their animals by name and treat every skein as a canvas.

Today, Karen works exclusively with natural fibers to create lovingly crafted, sustainable clothing and accessories — slow fashion and slow textiles that honor tradition and celebrate individuality. Many of her pieces are genuinely one-of-a-kind.

Hoagland Handmade is also committed to giving back. The brand is an Equality Ally with Equality Loudon and a Sapling Program Partner with the National Forest Foundation, planting a tree for every item sold — over 1,200 trees and counting.
