Each component in the Care Kit is crafted to meet STEELPORT’s high performance standards. The blade oil is made from lightweight, food-safe Camellia oil ideal for protecting carbon steel without becoming sticky or rancid.

The handle wax is a premium blend designed specifically for resin-stabilized wood, conditioning and sealing the handle to maintain its natural luster. All materials are made in the USA and selected for purity, durability, and long-term performance.

Caring for a carbon steel knife is simple but essential. After each use, the knife should be hand washed and thoroughly dried to avoid moisture exposure and prevent rust.

An occasional thin layer of Camellia or food-grade mineral oil keeps the blade protected—especially when storing the knife for longer periods. The resin-stabilized wood handle benefits from being kept dry and treated monthly with the included handle wax to maintain its smooth finish.

Over time, the blade will naturally develop a patina, a harmless and desirable characteristic that reflects your cooking habits and enhances the knife’s heirloom quality.
