J. Gray is a San Diego, California brand founded by designer Lauren Lynch Wemple and launched in December 2024. Every piece is handmade in California, with nearly all materials, from USA-milled denim and soft organic cotton to the embroidery thread, sourced in the United States. The collection spans heirloom nursery blankets, denim tabletop linens made partly from repurposed antique textiles, and cozy unisex lounge sweaters, many of which can be customized. The brand’s whimsical concept centers on J. Gray, an adventure-loving, martini-sipping cat who inherits his family’s textile mill, and each embroidered motif nods to one of his escapades. The mission is simple: create beautiful goods for home, wardrobe and nursery that work hard with purpose for years to come.
